As Iceland "celebrates" its first anniversary of THE BIG CRASH, HH opens an art exhibition titled "The Icelandic Expansion 2009" - a sarcastic title, since "The Icelandic Expansion" (Icelandic business-viking-raids on foreign shores) came to a shrieking halt one year ago. The show features a series of photographs shot last January in an unnamed country in southern Africa, showing a once invincible, now desperate Icelandic "business-viking" wandering around the poor third world suburbs, sleeping on the beach and begging in the street. Show is at The Contemporary Art Gallery, Skólavörðustígur 3, 101 Reykjavik, 7-20 October 2009.

HH was invited to be among the speakers at the opening ceremony of the art festival in Bergen Norway last May, a black tie event held at the big and festive Grieghallen, with the king and queen of Norway up front. HH's speech focused on the current crisis in Iceland and the relations between the two countries. It was recorded by Norwegian Televison, NRK, and is now available on youtube.com.

Hitman's Guide to 6 Countries - 01. okt. 2009
HH's latest novel, "The Hitman's Guide to House Cleaning" has been sold to 6 countries. That is: Russia, Norway, Poland, Germany, Denmark and Holland. The rights are handled by Andrew Nurnberg Ass. in London. First date of publication is October 12th 2009 in Denmark.

HH turned 50 last month. After celebrating with friends in Reykjavik he flew to Oslo HH turned 50 on 18 February. After celebrating with friends in Reykjavik he flew to Oslo for a "Forfatterkveld" at the Litteraturhuset. (http://icelandreview.com/icelandreview/daily_news/?cat_id=29314&ew_0_a_id=320579) HH then stayed on in Oslo for 2 weeks, busy writing and giving interviews. (http://www.facebook.com/ext/share.php?sid=55069277251&h=zLkJR&u=Zm2uw) HH's had a long and loving relationship with Norway, since he spent the summer of '78 in the woods east of Oslo, counting trees.
The Hitman's Guide - 28. okt. 2008
HH's new novel, "10 ráð til að hætta að drepa fólk og byrja að vaska upp", will be published in Iceland in mid November. It tells the story of a hitman for the Croatian Mafia in NYC that is forced to flee the States and accidentally ends up in Iceland disguised as a Southern televangelist. It was written in English and Icelandic. The English version, "The Hitman's Guide to House Cleaning", is being presented by Andrew Nurnberg Associates in London.
